Suddenly, the weather has also changed, chilling as quickly as the economy. We've had two days of snow and wind, and the freezing temperatures are very unusual for here this time of year. I watched a hummingbird this morning... it was sad. Our feeder was frozen, but he was gamely trying to get a few sips anyway. I hope he's able to find something - my neighbor and I have been trying to keep them around, but without food, they will try to head further south for the rest of the winter. The changes in the yard and garden always make me a little melancholy, mourning the loss of flowers and fresh veggies. I'll welcome the changes Spring will bring!
A change that's been happening that we've overlooked - the little dark ring growing around the recessed can light over the refrigerator. Turns out it's a water/mildew stain from a leak in our shower directly above! Now we're going to have to do a little drywalling in the middle of the kitchen, in the middle of the Holiday season! Frustrating, but it seems we must not have been busy enough, for this to be added to our plate.
During this blessed Christmas Season, it's good to know there is One who never changes!
